We have been pleased to engage Build Right to undertake renovation and restructuring work at our home. From the first contact, with prompt response, to an on a site visit to scope the project, quoting for work to be done (including appropriate analysis of major items), to signing the contract and commencing work itself – everything was done in a professional, courteous and friendly manner. Once work commenced, the builders turned up on time (or early) every day. They gave full days work, at a consistent level of output – (no unduly smokos or other breaks). As we were in residence throughout the period of renovation/rebuilding, we were very pleased that the house was left tidy and inhabitable at all times. Not that there wasn't dust and rubbish but things were not left in our way. During the construction, Greg liaised with our other suppliers and his contractors to ensure everything was available on site at the right time within the project. Greg also looked at options where money could be saved. He sought agreement from the appropriate parties where necessary (including architect and ourselves). We were so pleased with the first renovation, we contracted Build Right on a further 2 renovation/development projects and we are very pleased with the out come of those also. My wife and I engaged Roger and his company to do renovations at my home in Kohimarama, Auckland. The renovation was difficult as the semi-detached home was over 35 years old. Roger provided outstanding suggestions at every stage of the renovation, some of which to our regret, we chose not to implement. He was transparent, honest, and forthright in his dealings with us. Before embarking on any expenditure he would engage us in discussion and provide clear, understandable reasons for his suggestions and the costs that would be involved. The Result has been a vastly superior renovation to the one we had initially intended as a cost we could afford. We implemented most of his suggestions. We were particularly impress with the quality of his workmanship and the range of contacts he has which made the project flow smoothly. We are grateful to him for providing explanations as to why certain sub-projects had to be undertaken to protect our investment in the house. His projected timeline for the project has proved reasonably accurate and we chose to vacate the premises to allow the project to proceed more quickly. He started on the date agreed and he completed the work to a point where we could return to our home in the time agreed. We felt he listened to our point of view and ensured he understood exactly what it was we wanted. He remained in regular contact all throughout the project and often met us on site on the weekend. When I was asked by Roger to write a reference about him and his skill as a builder, I thought it was going to be easy. Not so. Every time I started to write, it all sounded to formal and to trite... So I'm going to keep it simple. He came when he said he would. He did what he said he'd do. He charged what he said he would. He finished the job to the highest standard. Throughout the tendering process they were very easy to work with and extremely accommodating of our existing needs as an Early Childhood Centre. They clearly communicated each step of the process with us and, at all times, we felt that our ideas and aspirations were valued. Their reporting systems and processes were always clear and transparent. During the project they were very good at communicating to us what progress was being made. They were also able to troubleshoot and achieve practical outcomes for us in a timely manner. The project itself was completed within the timeframe Build Right had indicated. Workmanship was of a very high standard and the team of carpenters and labourers were very easy to work with. The working relationship within the team itself seemed to be very positive. They completed the project with very little disruption to our Early Childhood Centre routine and we have been extremely pleased with the finished renovations. The commitment and capability of the team that did the renovation for us was outstanding and the result exceeded all our expectations. The renovations were always going to be a challenge for any builder who took on the job given the variety of shapes and angles in the building and some complex engineering requirements associated with the significant amount of structural steel required to hold it together. Challenge accepted by the team with every piece of steel fitting perfectly into place. From the start to finish the Build Right was a great team to work with. At the start, the quotation process was completely open and honest giving the belief that the costs were realistic, which proved correct with the project coming on budget. This was backed up by the team they put on the job, extremely hard working with a very high attention to detail. Despite the complexity of the job, there was never any drama, any challenge tackled professionally and effectively. The result is a house we are extremely proud to call our home. The transformation from old to new is superb in every respect. We are highly impressed with Build Right and are more than willing to recommend their services. A great job, well done.  

In April 2018 we were despondent having been let down by the local franchisee of Lockwood Homes. The franchisee subsequently went into liquidation but they were due to build a minor dwelling for us in the back garden of our home. Lockwood Homes said that if we could find another local builder who would be willing to take over the job they would offer support and guidance for their particular style of construction. We approached Build Right Contractors on the recommendation of friends and we had a great experience with them and are happy to recommend them. We would be pleased to follow up this written reference with a telephone call also. Greg from Build Right said that they would be pleased to take on the challenge of building a Lockwood as they had not done one before. Detailing pricing was agreed with us covering the build, the groundwork and fittings not supplied in the kit from Lockwood. All suggestions from Greg and the team were well thought out and appropriate. The build went well and the young builders on-site each day were very hardworking and polite. We had regular feedback from neighbours who were really impressed that these young builders turned up at 7.15 every day and worked all day until 5.30 pm without taking much time at all for breaks. They cleared up pretty well each day and if something wasn’t tidied to our satisfaction we only had to mention it and they took note. They kept us well informed of everything and contacted us to let us know if there were any changes in times and dates for the contractors. They liaised with Lockwood Homes on aspects of the build which were particular to Lockwood and everything ran smoothly. In short, Build Right Contractors kept their word on everything which was agreed.
